Theology 101

This course introduces students to the major categories of Christian theology. Students will explore the nature of God, the authority of Scripture, and the core doctrines that shape the Christian faith. Emphasis is placed on building a strong theological foundation that leads to both understanding and a growing commitment to Christ.

Theology 102
3 Credits
This course builds on Theology 101 by exploring key doctrines such as the Trinity, the person and work of Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, and last things. Students will examine how these doctrines shape everyday life and ministry, with an emphasis on applying sound doctrine in real-world contexts.

Apologetics
3 Credits
This course equips students to defend the Christian faith with clarity and confidence. Attention will be given to the reliability of Scripture, the existence of God, the problem of evil, and engaging competing worldviews. Students will learn both the content and approach of apologetics, with an emphasis on communicating truth with humility and wisdom.

Soteriology
3 Credits
This course explores the doctrine of salvation in depth. Students will study sin, grace, redemption, justification, and sanctification, along with the work of Christ on the cross. Emphasis is placed on understanding the full scope of salvation and its impact on identity, daily life, and ministry.

Hermeneutics

This course introduces students to the principles and practices of interpreting Scripture correctly. Emphasis is placed on understanding context, literary forms, and authorial intent. Students will learn how to handle God’s Word responsibly and apply it accurately.

Old Testament 1: Genesis – Ruth

This course guides students through the first major eras of biblical history, including Creation, the Patriarchs, the Exodus, Conquest, and the period of the Judges. Students will explore key events, people, and covenants that shape the biblical narrative and lay the foundation for understanding the rest of Scripture.

Ministry Essentials 1

This course introduces students to the everyday responsibilities of ministry within the local church. Topics include conflict resolution, communication, team dynamics, and supporting ministry environments. Emphasis is placed on developing practical skills for navigating relationships, handling challenges, and serving effectively within a ministry team.

Ministry Essentials 2
3 Credits
This course builds on Practical Duties 1 by focusing on the practical responsibilities of leading and shepherding people in ministry. Topics include leading staff, performing weddings and funerals, basic counseling, budgeting, and developing a clear philosophy of ministry. Students will gain the tools needed to lead with wisdom, clarity, and biblical conviction in real ministry settings.

This course equips students to care for others through biblical encouragement, guidance, and discipleship. Emphasis is placed on listening well, understanding people’s needs, and applying Scripture in ways that bring hope, healing, and direction.

Foundations of Discipleship

This course focuses on the process of making disciples in everyday life. Students will learn how to invest in others, lead small groups, and create reproducible discipleship environments. Attention is given to both personal discipleship and developing others to do the same.

Church Planting 1

This course introduces the philosophy and biblical foundation of church planting. Students will explore the patterns of the early Church, the role of apostolic leadership, and the importance of establishing healthy, reproducing churches. Attention is given to vision, calling, and the essential elements needed to begin a new church.

Practical Ministry Practicum 1

The practicum allows students to put into practice what they are learning through real ministry experience. This may include preaching a sermon, leading a service project, or participating in a missions trip. All practicums must be approved in advance and are required for graduation.

Internships may be completed in place of the practicums and must be approved in advance. Students will submit a written reflection describing their role, what they learned, and how it will shape their future ministry.
