Accreditation

Why We Chose Not to Pursue Accreditation

Accreditation is a common pathway for academic institutions, but it is not the only way to provide serious theological training. After careful consideration, we chose not to pursue formal accreditation for three primary reasons.

First, cost.

Accreditation is extremely expensive. The process requires significant administrative overhead, ongoing fees, and structural requirements that dramatically increase tuition. Our goal is to keep training accessible and affordable so that future pastors, missionaries, and church planters can complete their education with as little debt as possible. We believe theological training should equip people for ministry, not burden them financially at the start of it.

Second, freedom in instruction.

Remaining non-accredited allows us greater flexibility in what we teach and who teaches. We are able to shape courses around Scripture, ministry practice, and real-world leadership needs without being restricted by external accrediting standards. It also allows us to invite qualified instructors who are actively serving in ministry, alongside academically trained professors, without being limited by accreditation-specific credential requirements.

Third, ministry alignment.

Our program is designed around preparation for ministry rather than institutional benchmarks. This allows us to structure courses, schedules, and learning outcomes around formation, discernment, and practical readiness for service, while still maintaining a high level of academic seriousness.

What This Means For You

Choosing a non-accredited program does not mean receiving a lesser education. It means receiving a more affordable one without compromising the quality of instruction.

Our courses are taught by a combination of:

  • Professors from local seminaries and Bible colleges

  • Experienced pastors and ministry leaders who have served faithfully for many years

Students receive solid biblical teaching, theological depth, and practical ministry training from instructors who are both academically trained and ministry tested.

A common question we receive is: Is this a real degree?

The answer is yes.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to apply to one of our accredited partner seminaries for continued study at the master’s level. This allows students to complete an affordable undergraduate degree and then transfer into an accredited seminary program if they choose.

Transfer and Continuing Education Pathway

Once a student completes their degree through the Palmcroft Bible Institute, we provide formal documentation to support continued academic study.

This includes:

  • Official transcripts, detailing completed coursework, credit hours, and grades. Transcripts are issued directly to the student and, upon request, sent to one of our accredited partner seminaries as part of the application process.

  • A formal reference letter from our board, affirming the student’s theological training, ministry involvement, character, and readiness for advanced academic study. This letter serves as an institutional endorsement and provides context for the student’s formation and preparation.

Because transfer policies ultimately rest with the receiving institution, acceptance of credits is determined by the partner seminary. However, our curriculum is intentionally structured to align with undergraduate-level theological expectations, and our partnerships are built to create a clear and realistic pathway toward master’s-level study.

This approach allows students to complete an affordable, ministry-focused degree while preserving future academic and vocational opportunities.

Our Partners

Palmcroft Bible Institute partners with accredited seminaries that accept our credits and recognize the academic discipline and ministry preparation of our students, providing a clear pathway to an accredited graduate-level theological education.
